OAK HILL UPDATES

Need for 1st VP of Fundraising

The PTO Board continues to search for a 1st VP of Fundraising (or two individuals willing to work together) to make sure we can raise the needed funds for the students, school, teachers, and staff

If you think you want to volunteer, but you are a little uncertain of what is expected, please feel free to reach out to us or another board member at oakhillptopresident@gmail.com It’s incredibly rewarding to be part of the board and we hope you choose to join us.

Bedtime Story Night - March 5

Bedtime Story Night is THIS Thursday, March 5th at 6pm. Make sure you have registered on Membership Toolkit - attendance is free, but you must register so that we have an accurate headcount for crafts and snacks! Siblings are welcome to attend as well - again, make sure they are registered! This year, our special guests are The Science Guys.

We still need volunteers for set up, running stations during the event, and quick clean up after. Sign up to volunteer here: https://oakhillespto.membershiptoolkit.com/volunteer/163822

Grandparents & Special Friend's Day: March 26th!

Grandparents/Special Friends Day is Thursday, March 26 from 8:45AM - 10:00AM for Kindergarten-5th grade. RSVP is done electronically for this event. Completing the registration is very important so that we know the number of grandparents/special friends to expect as well as allowing us time to run them through the raptor system and to prepare their name tag ahead of time (both are required by the county). Registration must be done by Friday, March 13th.

Click here for more event info and to register

We are in need of A LOT of volunteers to make this day run smoothly, so please email if you can help out that morning click here to volunteer.

After School Clubs

Chess Club:  Four more meetings - March 2, March 9, March 16, and March 23.

Girls on the Run:  Spring season is off to a great start. Thank you to all the volunteer coaches.

Hero Boys:  Hero Boys is a running and confidence program designed for boys in grades 3 to 5.  Sign ups should be open in early March - stay tuned for more details.

Vision and Hearing Testing - March 16

Vision and Hearing Checks will be conducted on Monday, March 16 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

We will need 3 to 4 volunteers, and signs ups will go live on Tuesday, March 3 on Membership Toolkit.

LOG THOSE HOURS

Please ensure that ALL YOUR VOLUNTEER HOURS ARE LOGGED IN RAPTOR. March is typically the deadline for the main office to submit volunteer hours for state and county grants.  Last year, we missed out on vital funding due to unlogged hours.

Use this link to log those hours.

If you need to create a Raptor account, please see Ms. Stargel in the main office.

Manic-less Monday

There remains one opening (June 1) for Manic-less Monday. Please consider filling this spot to provide breakfast or snacks to help the teachers and staff start the week off on a positive note (especially at the end of the school year).

Classroom Volunteers

Please continue to check for open volunteer opportunities within your grade level, as teachers remain in need of classroom readers and additional support.
