PTO Board Vacancies

The PTO is busy preparing for a few board member transitions, as the end of their terms are approaching. The positions needing volunteers are: 

  1. 1st Co-Vice President (Fundraising)
    The 1st Vice President shall act as an aide to the President and perform the duties of the President in the absence or inability of that officer to serve. He/She will be responsible for all revenue-producing committees and will serve as the liaison between the Executive Board and the respective committee co-chairs. The 1st Vice President will be primary co-signer with the Treasurer on PTO checks.  For more information, please reach out to Dr. Tracey Kearse at tracey.kearse@yahoo.com

  2. 3rd Vice President (Volunteer Coordinator)
    The 3rd Vice President shall act as an aide to the president and be responsible for recruiting committee chairs and volunteers, coordinating committee efforts and volunteer assistance for teachers and school initiatives (including room parents, picture day, field day, and other committee driven activities). He/She will serve as the liaison between the Executive Board and the respective committee co-chairs. For more information, please reach out to Brooke Shivers at cbw1616@gmail.com.

Book Fair Family Night Tonight: April 1st!

This week a new book fair is at the Oak Hill Media Center. This is the Literati Book Fair, which offers an excellent chance for your child to find books they love and grow as lifelong readers! Every purchase directly supports our school. Student will shop during their media class this week.

Gift Card & Shop Online:  Similar to the cash-free Scholastic eWallet, the Literati Gift Card is an online student credit for easy shopping. Friends and family can contribute, too! Spring Dance: Tickets on Sale April 4th!

You're Invited! Join us for the Oak Hill Parent/Child Spring Dance on Saturday, April 26th from 5-7p.m. at the Severna Park Community Center. Tickets are on sale now here. Ticket price is $10 per adult and $5 per child. Limited to 400 tickets, so please order early. Party snacks included with ticket. Other food and beverages available for purchase. 

To make this event a success, we need your help! Please consider volunteering for a short shift and help us to make this a fun and memorable experience for all kids and families. Click Here to be directed to the to sign up for a volunteer opportunity.

Race For Education: Monday, May 19th!

On May 19th, OHES students will participate in our annual Race for Education! The Race for Education is a jog-a-thon (or walk-a-thon) for ALL OHES students where each grade will have a designated time to job (or walk) around the side field of the school.

Last year we raised just shy of $40,000 to enrich the lives of Oak Hill students with essential educational items and experiences!

STEP 1- CREATE A FREE MEMBERSHIP TOOLKIT ACCOUNT  Already have one? GREAT! 

STEP 2 - ORDER YOUR CHILD’S FREE T-SHIRT TO WEAR ON RACE DAY ONE FORM PER STUDENT. ORDER BY APRIL 11TH.

STEP 3 - PERSONALIZE YOUR CHILD’S FUNDRAISING PAGE. Log into Membership Tookit and navigate to your child's fundraising page, found within the My Orders & Volunteer Forms tab Fundraising Campaigns . There you can add your child's picture and emails of those you'll be asking for donations. Individual messages will go out automatically with a link to your child's fundraising page. Receipts, too.

This year's incentives...

HOMEWORK PASS for each student who receives three (3) donations.

ENTRY INTO GRAND PRIZE DRAWING for each student who meets and/or exceeds their individual fundraising goal.

30 MINUTE OF PLAY IN A VIDEO GAME TRUCK for each student who meets or exceeds $150 in individual fundraising.

MEDALS for the girl and boy in each class who complete the most laps on Race day.

CLASS PRIZES for top 3 fundraising classes.

STUDENT PRIZE for the Top Fundraising student in each grade. 

A SCHOOLWIDE SURPRISE if we beat our fundraising goal of $20,000.

The PTO is very excited as this is one our BIGGEST fundraiser of the year. WE NEED YOUR HELP TO MAKE THIS EVENT A SUCCESS!

LAST CHANCE: OHES 2024-25 Yearbook

To order your copy of Oak Hill’s yearbook click here! All orders must be submitted by April 18th. Don't miss out! Last year we were flooded with questions about ordering a yearbook AFTER they were delivered to the students. This is not the time to ask for a yearbook. 

Please take the time toORDER NOW!!We will not be able to order any additional books or reopen sales after the fact. 

5th Grade Promotion Details!

The 5th Grade Promotion Ceremony will be held June 13th at 8:30am.  Each student is allotted 4 tickets for guests and seating is arranged based on random lottery. More information to come on this later. 

YARD SIGNS: these are a simple way to announce to your community that you have a 5th grader about to be promoted! The cost is $20 per sign and they are optional. Deadline to purchase is April 4th and pick up date will be TBD at Oak Hill later this spring. Click here to order.

POOL PARTY: There is a pool party for your 5th grade students (no siblings here, sorry!) that Chartridge Community Pool on June 10th from 7-9pm. This is optional, and free! This is such a fun time for the students, and entrance includes a DJ, Photo Booth and snow cone truck. Drinks and snacks are also provided. Sign up for this is also live on your membership toolkit. Parents must sign their student in and out of the pool party. To chaperone, sign up here.

PROMOTION DAY EARLY DISMISSAL: on promotion day, you have the option to register to take your student home (and their Oak Hill sibling) for an early dismissal after the ceremony has concluded. Please please please fill this out in advance if you plan to take your student home early that day. Register here on membership toolkit.

Kindergarten Registration: April 8th

April 8th begins Kindergarten registration for Fall 2025. Families can register online here. Please share with friends who are new to entering Oak Hill. 

Also, we would love to welcome our new students and have them join us for some summer play dates to get to know other students who will be going into Kindergarten. Please visit the the Class of 2038 PTO facebook page for more information.

Thank you to Megan Sundburg, Lauren Farrelly, Kimberly Longenbach and Ms. Stargel for their hard work in preparing for our Grandparents/ Special Friends Day. This is a HUGE event and requires a lot of planning and organizing! Thank you to the countless parent volunteers who helped make this day such a success!

Artsonia at Oak Hill!

Artsonia is the world's largest collection of student art, published by teachers and students from around the world. Parents and family can view the art online, leave comments and order keepsakes featuring the artwork. Proceeds contribute to purchasing art supplies for OHES art classes. Register on the Artsonia website here, so that you receive important notifications, such as when new artwork is posted to your child's gallery.

THE NEXT GENERATION OF BOX TOPS IS HERE.

Continue cutting and saving your Box Tops. There are still some out there!  Next deadline is in October. Please place Box Tops in a Ziploc bag labeled with your child's name and homeroom, then send them into school. We are receiving several baggies without teacher's name. Teachers will not receive credit for baggies without teacher names.

THE NEXT GENERATION OF BOX TOPS IS HERE.

Box Tops is changing to fit today's families. The new and improved Box Tops mobile app uses state-of-the-art technology to scan your store receipt, find participating products and instantly add Box Tops to your school's earnings online.

 

A NEW WAY TO TRACK BOX TOPS PARTICIPATION!

Now when you use the Box Tops app to scan your store receipt, you can "Give Credit" to your child's classroom. To "Give Credit" make sure you have the latest version of the Box Tops app, scan your receipt, then tap the star icon to enter your "Give credit" memo.
