Harvest for the Hungry: Oct. 2nd - 27th!

October 2nd - October 27th, Oak Hill will participate in the 36th Annual Harvest for the Hungry Food and Fund Drive, collecting money and food donations for the Anne Arundel County Food Bank (AACFB). Last year, our school community collected over 5,000 pounds of food, wow! Please join us by donating funds and non-perishable food items. *A prize will be awarded to the class (one per grade) that collects the most food.

To donate funds, go to: www.aacps.org/harvest To donate food, send non-perishable food items to school with your student(s) throughout the month of October. 100% of the proceeds from this fund and food drive benefit the Anne Arundel County Food Bank.

To celebrate the event, we will be having a Spirit Week from Monday, October 16th to Friday, October 20th.

Monday, October 16th - Mix It Up! | Wear your wackiest, tackiest outfit and bring 2 mismatched foods.

Tuesday, October 17th - Hat Day! Wear your favorite hat and bring in a canned vegetable.

Wednesday, October 18th - Wake-Up! | Wear PJs to school and donate non-perishable breakfast items.

Thursday, October 19th - Colorful Crew! | Wear as many colors from the rainbow and donate canned fruit.

Friday, October 20th - Souper Bowl Friday! | Wear your favorite sports team jersey or favorite color and donate soup.

This year, we are also asking families to consider contributing cardboard boxes too, which will be used to hold the food donations. Boxes with handles (think U-Haul moving boxes) are ideal, and we will also accept Amazon larger boxes (at least 18’ x 18’ x 16”. Please have your child drop off boxes to Mr. or Mrs. Mastandrea.

For more information or to help coordinate, please contact Harvest for the Hungry Food and Fund Drive PTO Coordinator, Leah Paley at leahpaley2012@gmail.com
