Steps for a Quick and Safe Car Rider Experience

With the change in school start times and ongoing bus issues, the car drop off/pick up line is seeing more traffic then ever. To help keep the flow, we are re-sharing these procedures to help alleviate some wait time.

ARRIVAL:

  • Doors open at 7:45 AM. No supervision is available prior to 7:45 AM.
  • Follow the arrows painted on the parking lot. Pull all the way up to the stop sign or to the next car and unload at the curb. Cars should not enter the bus loop for any reason.
  • Students should exit the car from the passenger side ONLY.
  • Please make sure your child is ready to exit the vehicle (i.e. backpack, lunchbox, kisses, etc.)
  • Please stay in your car.
  • If your child requires assistance with car seats, please pull forward out of the drop off line to assist them.

DISMISSAL:

  • Car riders are dismissed at 2:25 PM and will line up inside the school gymnasium.
  • Your “Car Rider” sign MUST be displayed in your windshield.
  • You must be in a vehicle to pick up a child from the car rider line. Please stay in your car.
  • Students will enter the car on the passenger side. The driver side is a passing lane and is not safe for students to enter.
  • Staff will direct students to numbered cones. Please pull up to the assigned cone and staff will direct students to load cars. Please do not motion for your child to enter the car.
  • If your child requires assistance with car seats, please pull forward out of the pick up line to assist them.
  • If your child will be picked up by someone other than those listed on the emergency form, please notify the office and be sure the individual picking up has identification.
